Walk Across Water
Saturday 4th April 2009
Shades of pink everywhere as women of all ages walk on water. It’s all part of the 2009 Baby Boomers Bash.
Back in the 70s we burnt our bras – now we are wearing them as a fashion accessory – to advertise the need for continuing research into the causes of breast cancer – and hopefully – a cure in the near future.
Of course, we need you – women with breasts who are happy to advertise the need for ongoing support.
Wear something pink – then wear your bra over the top and brazenly walk abreast …over the bridge from Forster to Tuncurry.
Walk alone, bring your friends, come in a team from the office or a sporting group, or drag the family along. Borrow a bra (and a wig) and bring the blokes!
Make a noise and meet us at Gloria Jeans Coffees in Wharf Street Forster at 9am on Saturday April 4th.
Your $5 entry goes direct to Breast Cancer Research and donations into the pink bucket would be most welcome.
Our sponsor, Mid Coast Water is providing a refreshing bottle of water to help you get across the channel.
Along the way Great Lakes FM will be broadcasting Mumma Mia music, so bring your portable radios and as you enter John Wright Park in Tuncurry, join in the celebration to the sounds of Abba’s Dancing Queen.
That’s us - Dancing Queens: Breasted Baby Boomers walking on water for a cause.
Perhaps next year the men can walk on water in their jocks!
